With the "Media Creation Tool" for Windows 10, Microsoft provides a convenient way to download setup files or save them as an ISO image to create a bootable device.
- A computer or notebook with sufficient space available for download
- An empty USB-Stick (we recommend 8GB space) or a blank DVD with at least 4GB of storage space.
- A Windows 10 license key if you install Windows 10 for the first time, or if Windows 10 is not pre-installed by the manufacturer
At first you have to download the tool.
After you downloaded the tool, you are able to run it. Please disable temporarily your firewall and anti-virus protection, otherwise the creation process could fail.
Please confirm the terms of license. Now the setup has to be continued.
Now select "Create installation media for another PC" and click "Next".
Select the language, edition and architecture. If you create the setup files or ISO Image for another device, you have to remove the "recommended options" checkmark. When you are done, click on "Next".
5.At this point, you are able to select if you want to create an bootable USB-Stick or burn the setup files to an blank DVD.
When you are selecting the USB Flash Drive: Please use a formatted USB-Drive. We recommend you an 8GB Flash Drive. To start the process, click on "Next".
When selecting ISO Image: Select a path where you want to save the ISO file so you can burn it to a DVD later.
7.Now the selected version of Windows will be downloaded.
After downloading the image, the medium is fully created. WHen finished, you will receive a message when the operation was successful.
The Setup continues to perform a cleanup. Then your USB-Stick or ISO Image is ready for use.
To boot from your created image and install Windows 10, follow these instructions.
